Thanks for visiting my webpage which shows some of my original watercolour paintings, card sets and prints which are for sale. My name is Sue Ayres and I am a British watercolour artist specialising in wildlife, pet portraits, nature, landscapes and flora. I live and paint in Somerset, England.  I love to paint and gain such wonderful inspiration from the landscapes, wildlife and nature in Somerset. 

 

I adore painting wildlife and bringing their adorable likeness to life. Our countryside is full of such beauty so I am never short of inspiration.

Prior to starting the painting business I was running my own web, design and marketing business full time, so the painting had to fit in with that. As a result of the pandemic I had to stop working. So I decided to follow my real passion for painting animals, flora, wildlife and pets and start my art business. It started with friends, then friends of friends and the next thing I was sending pet portraits out to everywhere! 

 

I also intend for 2022 to start to teach my style of painting to small groups of beginner artists. The pleasure of helping people unlock their painting potential delights me immeasurably.

 

So today I still continue to learn and take huge pleasure in painting with watercolour. I strive to keep my work loose, free and fresh.
